With support from development partners, the Government of Liberia conducted its fifth National Population and Housing Census (NPHC) in November-December 2022. The census was conducted against the background of insufficient and obsolete data for socio-economic development planning and the monitoring of development progress and interventions, including the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development and other development agenda.

As part of disseminating the 2022 NPHC results, the Liberia Institute of Statistics and Geo-Information Services (LISGIS) is producing Analytical Reports which will provide in-depth analysis of priority thematic areas such as fertility, mortality, migration, education, marriage, and gender, among others. The Topics are focused on answering policies related questions and monitoring national, regional, and global development agendas.

The Reports will be produced by a team of (17) writers, analysts, and experts. The team will comprise Demographers, Statisticians, Professors, Researchers, and national and international experts.  The team’s composition will foster collaboration and ensure that reports produced are evidence-based and are of high quality, and relevant to policymakers and implementers.

To promote the usage of analytic reports by policymakers, writers must develop at least one policy brief from each report that will concisely summarize the census findings and ensure recommendations are implementable.

The reports will primarily use data from the 2022 NPHC. The census data will be triangulated with data from other censuses and surveys, and administrative data.
